Schedule Views
Schedule views are the read-only displays of a published timetable. Kampus SIS provides two distinct surfaces: an admin and staff view within the Timetable module, and a student-facing view within the Student Portal. Both surfaces show only published sessions — draft and confirmed sessions are never visible outside the planning interface.
Admin and Staff Views
Admin and staff schedule views are available to users with the timetable.view permission. They can be filtered by term, cohort group, room, staff member, or a combination of these dimensions.
Term schedule
The term schedule shows all published sessions across every allocation in a selected academic term. Access it from Timetable → Sessions and filter by the relevant term. The list can be further narrowed by campus, cohort group, staff member, or room. This view is useful for checking room utilisation or auditing a staff member's full teaching load for the term.
Allocation session grid
The session grid on an allocation's detail page shows all sessions for that specific allocation in a weekly calendar format. Toggle between weekly, fortnightly, and full-term views using the toolbar. Published, confirmed, cancelled, and rescheduled sessions are all shown with distinct visual styles. This view is available to all users with timetable.view and is the primary planner interface during the draft phase.
Room schedule
To check what is booked in a specific room, open the room from Organization → Rooms and view the Timetable tab. This shows all published sessions assigned to that room, organised by week, and overlays any room availability rules as blocked periods.
Staff schedule
To view a staff member's teaching schedule, open their profile from the Timetable planner (via any allocation's staff panel) and view the Schedule tab. This shows all published sessions the staff member is assigned to, along with their availability rules, for any selected week within the active term.
Note: Admin and staff schedule views include all published sessions regardless of portal visibility settings. The student portal has separate configuration options that may hide cancelled sessions or room/staff details from students.
Student Portal View
Students access their timetable through the Student Portal, where they see only the published sessions for the cohort groups they belong to. The portal timetable updates automatically whenever a new publication is made or a session is cancelled or rescheduled.
Students can view their timetable in three formats, accessible from the Timetable section of the portal:
- Weekly view — shows all sessions for the current week, laid out by day and time.
- Daily view — shows sessions for a selected day in chronological order.
- Term list — shows all upcoming sessions in the term as a chronological list, useful for planning ahead.
The Upcoming Sessions widget on the portal dashboard shows the student's next few sessions at a glance.
Depending on the tenant's portal settings, the following information may or may not be shown to students:
- Room name and location.
- Lecturer or staff member name.
- Cancelled sessions (shown with a struck-through style).

Cancelled and Rescheduled Sessions
Whether students see cancelled and rescheduled sessions in their portal timetable depends on the Show Cancelled Sessions setting. By default, cancelled sessions are hidden. When this setting is enabled, cancelled sessions are displayed with a strikethrough style and the cancellation reason, so students are explicitly informed rather than seeing a gap in the schedule.
Rescheduled sessions always show the replacement session at its new time. The original session time is shown with a Rescheduled label if cancelled-session display is enabled, so students can see what changed. Staff receive notifications for both cancellations and reschedules through the Communication module, regardless of portal display settings.
